Mowing & Trimming

A clean cut, every visit, on a schedule you can count on.

Regular mowing is the most visible part of lawn care — and one of the most important for grass health. Cutting at the right height, on a consistent schedule, with sharp blades keeps a lawn thick and helps it shade out weeds.

Our mowing service includes trimming around trees, fences, and beds, plus edging along walks and driveways, so the whole yard looks finished — not just the open areas the mower reaches.

We mow at heights that suit Colorado's cool-season grasses. Taller grass shades the soil, holds moisture better in our dry summers, and grows deeper roots — so we don't scalp lawns to stretch out visits.

We keep our routes consistent, so you know when to expect us. If weather pushes a visit, we'll make it up rather than skip it quietly.

Field notes

What 20+ years here taught us

Kentucky bluegrass and tall fescue — the grasses in most Front Range lawns — do best mowed on the taller side, which shades the soil and conserves moisture in our semi-arid climate.

In Denver's dry summers (roughly 14 to 15 inches of precipitation a year), taller mowing plus deep, infrequent watering is one of the simplest ways to keep a lawn healthy.

Growth slows during summer heat and picks back up in fall, so mowing frequency here isn't one fixed number all season — we adjust to how the grass is actually growing.

Common questions

How often will you mow?
Weekly service is typical during the main growing season, but frequency can flex with how fast your lawn is growing — spring growth is faster than mid-summer. We'll set a schedule that fits your yard.
Do you bag the clippings?
In most cases we recommend mulching clippings back into the lawn — they return nutrients and don't cause thatch when the lawn is mowed regularly. If you prefer bagging, tell us and we'll discuss the options during your estimate.
What if it rains or snows on my service day?
We adjust the route and make up the visit as soon as conditions allow. You won't be charged for work that didn't happen.
